Betty Arnold (aka Betty Raffin, M.D.; born Betty Jane Raffin, March 4, 1948, San Francisco, California, U.S.A.), retired American pediatrician with infectious disease specialty, chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics at San Jose Hospital, pediatric clinical associate for Stanford University residents, facilitator of the Healer’s Art class at the University of California, San Francisco, worked with children’s grief support groups, and served as vice president of a surgical instrument company. Arnold is a haikai and tanka poet, an active member of the Yuki Teikei Haiku Society and the Haiku Poets of Northern California. She edited the YTHS work-study journal Geppo for four years and has published her work in Mariposa, Geppo, and Red Lights. She has lived in Saratoga, California, for 35 years.
