Bill Kenney (born William Kenney, January 29, 1933, Newton, Massachusetts, U.S.A.; died September 26, 2022, Whitestone, New York). Retired professor of English at Manhattan College, Riverdale, New York, and poet. He began writing haiku in his early seventies, and was a frequent award winner in the Shiki Internet Kukai (2005–2016), the Caribbean Kigo Kukai (2009–2015), and the H. Gene Murtha Senryu Contest (2016 and 2018). He produced three collections of haiku and senryu, all from Red Moon Press: The Earth Pushes Back (2016), Senior Admission (2018), and Keep Walking (2021), that won notice in the Haiku Society of America’s Merit Book Awards, The Haiku Foundation’s Touchstone Awards, or both. Kenney resided in Whitestone, Queens, New York.
