Carol Reynolds (born Carol Simmonds, October 4, 1948, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia), secretary and administrator, retired in 2009 after the closure of the family engineering company. She discovered haiku in 2011 as a member of a local writing group. Mentored by prominent poet Cynthia Rowe, Reynolds initiated the Illawong Haiku Group in 2017 under the umbrella of the Australian Haiku Society to develop her own writing and introduce others to the fascinating world of haiku. Her haiku and haiga have been published in FreeXpression, A Hundred Gourds, Kokako, and Echidna Tracks and recognized in the annual FreeXpression haiku contests as well as competitions in Japan, Romania, and Croatia. Reynolds resides in Bangor, a southern suburb of Sydney, adjacent to Illawong.
