Christopher Patchel (born June 5, 1953, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A), American freelance graphic designer, artist, and haikai poet. Since 2000 his haiku and haibun have been published in the leading print and online journals in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. and included in 20 editions of the Red Moon Anthology, 8 years of the Snapshot Press Haiku Calendar, and 5 years of Lee Gurga and Scott Metz’s annual 100 notable ku from 20xx series, among many other anthologies. His haiga have been featured in Reeds: Contemporary Haiga and the Poetry Gallery section of Modern Haiku. His collection Turn Turn was a Touchstone Distinguished Book Award finalist. Having created the cover art for Frogpond from 2012 to 2018, Patchel served as that journal’s editor 2016–2018. He has resided in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago since 1984.
