David Bingham (born December 13, 1946, Liverpool, U.K.), retired teacher/lecturer and haikai poet. He has been writing haiku for over 20 years and is frequently published in leading journals. In 2013–2014 he was the editor of Blithe Spirit, the journal of the British Haiku Society, and has been a regular workshop leader in the writing of haiku and related forms in English. In 2017 Bingham was the winner of the British Haiku Society’s Ken and Noragh Jones Haibun Award. He edited Ripening Cherries (2019), an anthology of haiku, tanka, and haibun, and also an anthology of haibun, Stories under Every Rock (2020). He performs haiku at literary festivals as part of the Green Wood Haiku Group and was the acting president of the British Haiku Society for the period 2021 to 2022. He resides in Ironbridge, Shropshire, U.K.
