Debbie Strange

Debbie Strange (born Debra Mae MacKenzie, March 12, 1955, Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada), Canadian poet, artist, photographer, and musician. She is a member of several haiku and tanka organizations and enjoys contributing to the Haiku Foundation HaikuLife Film Festival and Haiga Galleries. Her most recent collection, The Language of Loss: Haiku & Tanka Conversations, won the 2022 Marianne Bluger Chapbook Award and the Sable Books 2019 International Women’s Haiku Contest. It also received an Honorable Mention in the 2021 HSA Merit Book Awards. Strange’s book of haiku, Random Blue Sparks, is forthcoming from Snapshot Press. Her daily creative practice helps with the management of chronic illness, and has yielded thousands of internationally published poems and artworks. She resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
