Detelina Tiholova (Detelina Jekova Tiholova, Bulgarian Cyrillic: Детелина Жекова Тихолова; born February 10, 1970, Dobrich, Bulgaria), art teacher, poet, and haiga artist. She is a member of the Bulgarian Haiku Union. In 2010 she published her book Хайку, хайга, суми-е (Haiku, haiga, sumi-e). In 2011 she held her first solo art exhibition, following that show with more than ten exhibitions of paintings, photographs, and haiga. Her works have been included in Bulgarian and multilingual anthologies, including Пътят (The Road, 2004), Градът / La ville (2012), Más-más csönd / Различна тишина (in Hungarian and Bulgarian, 2012), Портрет на града / Portrait de la ville (Bulgarian and French, 2015), Beyond Words / Отвъд думите (2018), Climats / Климати / Climi (French, Bulgarian, and Italian, 2018), Peonies / Божури (2019), and The Sea / Морето (2021). Tiholova won awards in the IAFOR Vladimir Devidé Haiku Award (2015, 2018); the contest at the Carriers of the Wind conference (2016); and the Fifth (2012), Sixth (2013), and Seventh (2014) Bulgarian national haiku contests. In 2020, she was named a Teacher of the Year by the Bulgarian Union of Teachers. Tiholova resides in Kyustendil, Bulgaria.
