Elizabeth Crocket

Elizabeth Crocket (born Elizabeth Kewley, 1956, Toronto, Ontario), Canadian poet, photo haiga artist, and author. Her haikai have appeared in journals in North America, Europe, and Japan. She placed second in the 2019 H. Gene Murtha Memorial Senryu Contest and was highly commended in 2023. She has published eight haiku books, including Not Like Fred and Ginger: Recovery Haibun (2014) and a picture book, Happy Haiku (2019), both shortlisted for the THF Touchstone Distinguished Books Award, and two books for younger readers. She won the photographic category of the 2nd Jane Reichhold Haiga Competition (2017). Collage and photo haiga of hers have been featured in the THF Haiga Galleries on two occasions, and another was commissioned by the City of Burlington for an outdoor display in 2021. Crocket served as judge of the Nicholas A. Virgilio Memorial Haiku and Senryu Contest in 2020. She resides in Burlington, Ontario.
