Elliot Nicely (born Elliot Sandon Nicely, July 4, 1976, Sandusky, Ohio, U.S.A.), American secondary school teacher and haiku and tanka poet. His work has been published in leading haiku and poetry journals since 2006 and appeared in more than two dozen anthologies across four continents, including five Red Moon anthologies (2007, 2011, 2016, 2018, and 2021). He has had a haiku shortlisted for the Touchstone Awards for Individual Poems in 2016, and his writing was featured in Red Moon Press’s New Resonance series in 2019. Four of Nicely’s haiku and senryu chapbooks appeared in 2013, 2017, and 2023, and in 2024 he published Sine Qua Non, a full-length haiku collection. He served on the Haiku North America 2023 Programming Committee and was a judge for HSA’s Merit Book Awards in 2024. Nicely resides in Lakewood, Ohio.
