June Rose Dowis (born June Rose Renaud February 26, 1964, Lompoc, California, U.S.A.), Director of Communications for the Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, artist, and free verse and haiku poet. She is currently serving as South Region Coordinator of the Haiku Society of America and is a member of the Northwest Louisiana Haiku Society as well as a number of writers groups and arts councils in northeast Louisiana. Dowis is also the leader of two monthly email critique groups, Northwest Louisiana Haiku Group and LaMis Haiku Group. Her haiku have been published in print in Acorn, Bottle Rockets, Frogpond, and Modern Haiku as well as A Vast Sky: An Anthology of Contemporary World Haiku (2015) and the Snapshot Press Calendar for 2022. Her online credits include A Hundred Gourds, The Heron’s Nest, Pulse, Shamrock Haiku Journal, and tinywords. She has also won notice in the 3rd HaikuNow! International Haiku Contest (2012) and the HSA Harold G. Henderson Awards (2013 and 2021) and Gerald Brady Senryu Award (2021). She lives in Shreveport, Louisiana.
