Kat Lehmann (born Katrina Anna Lehmann, July 1969, Reading, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; married name Blount), haikai poet, editor, and author. She holds a B.A. from Hampshire College and Ph.D. from the University of Utah, and now works as a human subjects research regulatory specialist and research nephrologist at the Yale School of Medicine. Publishing haiku since 2014, in 2020 she won a THF Touchstone Award for Individual Poems, placed second in the HSA Henderson Haiku Contest, and cofounded the Cloudlanders Haiku Study Group. She was cofounding Editor-in-Chief of Whiptail and a founding panelist of the Trailblazer Contest (both 2021). Lehmann served as a panelist for The THF Touchstone Distinguished Books Award (2021–2023) and Associate Editor of Sonic Boom (2022–2023). Author of four books, including the 2024 Rattle Chapbook Prize winner No Matter How It Ends a Bluebird’s Song to be published in 2025. Lehmann’s work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best Small Fictions, and Best of the Net. She resides in Guilford, Connecticut.
