Marijan Čekolj (born February 21, 1955, Samobor, Croatia [Yugoslavia]; died June 4, 2018, Samobor), haiku poet, editor, and publisher. He was a cofounder and president of the Croatian Haiku Association, editor-in-chief of the bilingual haiku magazine Vrabac/Sparrow, and publisher of the bilingual series Croatian Haiku Poets, with more than 30 books. Čekolj published eight books of haiku and five of longer poetry. In addition, he edited the first Croatian haiku anthology Haiku iz rata / War Haiku, a second enlarged edition, and a second anthology, Otvoren put /Open Road. He last resided in Samobor, Croatia.
