Marion S Clarke, 2018

Marion S Clarke (born February 2, 1965, Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland), is a clerical officer for her local education authority, poetry facilitator in schools, poet, and visual artist. She was the overall winner of the Financial Times Haiku in the Workplace contest (2015), awarded Master of the Month on NHK World-Japan’s program Haiku Masters (January 2017), and received a Sakura Award and Honorable Mention in the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival Haiku Contest (2012 and 2019). Clarke also received an Honorable Mention in the Tanka Society of America Sanford Goldstein International Tanka Contest (2019), was runner-up in the IAFOR Vladimir Devidé Haiku Awards (2017), and the Irish Haiku Society’s International Haiku Competition (2015). Shortlisted for a THF Touchstone Award for Best Individual Poem (2013), Clarke‘s work was published by invitation in the first two anthologies of haiku from Ireland, Bamboo Dreams (2012) and Between the Leaves (2016). She resides in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland.
