Phillip Kennedy (born Phillip Ronald Kennedy, December 12, 1969, Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada), American writer and editor in trade and educational publishing, translator, editor, and poet. He composes haiku both in English and Japanese; his work has appeared in GeppoModern Haiku, and Frogpond. Kennedy is a member of the Haiku Society of America and the Yuki Teikei Haiku Society. He became a dōjin in the YTHS in 2022. He is also a dōjin in the Ten’I (天為) Haiku Society in Tokyo. With Amy Ostenso-Kennedy he coedited two YTHS members’ anthologies: Hanami Dango (2017) and Nesting Dolls (2018), and was responsible for cover, design, and layout of another members’ anthology, Lost Pinwheel (2019). Kennedy resides in Monterey, California.
