Ruth Holzer (born Ruth Clare Holzer, November 25, 1943, Bronx, New York, New York, U.S.A.), retired federal government translator (French, Italian, German, Greek, Russian) and editor; poet and haikai poet. Since 2000 her haiku, senryu, and haibun have appeared in the leading journals and anthologies, notably the compendia of the Haiku Society of America, the Yuki Teikei Haiku Society, and Red Moon Press as well as the topical anthologies edited by Stanford Forrester and Robert Epstein. Her publications include seven chapbooks of free verse and ghazals, a letterpress haiku mini-chapbook, Silk Flower (2005), and a haibun collection, Home and Away (2021). Holzer has served as an assistant editor of tinywords since 2013 and coeditor of Haibun Today in 2015. She resides in Herndon, Virginia.
