Sharon Pretti (born May 23, 1962, San Francisco, California, U.S.A.), retired medical social worker, writer, and haiku poet. Since 2013 her work has been published in leading journals including Acorn, Bottle Rockets, Frogpond, Mariposa, Modern Haiku, and Wild Plum. Her work has also been anthologized in Roberta Beary et al., Wishbone Moon, The Red Moon Anthology of English Language Haiku (2015, 2016, 2017), A New Resonance 11 (2019), and Jessica Malone’s Another Trip Around the Sun (2019). Her haiku have won honors in the Francine Porad Award (2015), the San Francisco International Haiku Competition (2015, 2017), the Robert Speiss Memorial Haiku Award (2016), and the Touchstone Individual Poem Awards (2017). A long time member of the Haiku Poets of Northern California, Pretti was selected for the 2018 HPNC Two Autumns Reading and edited the 2021 Two Autumns Press anthology, Filling in the Sky. She lives in San Francisco, California.
