Susan Yavaniski (born in 1966, Vermont, U.S.A.), American haiku poet, graduated with a B.A. in English from Yale University, now retired from the insurance industry [AIG]. Her haiku, tanka, haibun, and related forms have been published in American, British, and Indian journals, including Frogpond, Modern HaikuThe Heron’s NestWhiptailAkitsu Quarterly, Upstate Dim Sum, RibbonsWales Haiku Journal, and haikuKatha. Her poems have been recognized in major contests, including the Golden Triangle Poetry Competition, Polish International Haiku Competition, and Autumn Moon Haiku Contest. Her haiku were selected for the 2023 Red Moon Anthology, upside down. She is a member of the Haiku Society of America and, since 2024, the Route 9 Haiku Group. Currently, Susan resides in New York’s Hudson Valley.
