Triveni Awards (2024– )

The Triveni Awards were inaugurated in 2024 and organized by the Triveni Haikai India group. The annual contest is open to all poets and invites submissions on the Internet of one or two haiku on any theme and without any prescriptions as to format. There is no submission fee. The first contest attracted 600 entries from more than 300 poets in 37 countries.

Contest Regulations and Procedures

The Triveni Awards are conducted on the Internet. The contest is open to all poets of any age anywhere.

Using a standard form accessible on the Triveni Haikai India website, poets are invited to submit one or two original and previously unpublished haiku. There is no specific theme or required format and no entry fee. The submission window is nominally October 1–15.

Three winning haiku and several honourable mentions are selected. Cash prizes of 10,000, 5,000, and 3,000 rupees are awarded to the winners, and e-certificates are presented for each winning haiku and honourable mention.

The names of the contest judges are announced together with the winners by email to Triveni Haikai India members and shortly thereafter posted on the Triveni Haikai India website.
