Turkson Adu Darkwa

Turkson Adu Darkwa

Turkson Adu Darkwa (born October 7, 1987, Kibi, East Akim Municipal District, Eastern Region, Ghana), teacher, poet, and haikuist. His passion for writing dates from his secondary school days, when he was president of his school’s writers and debaters club and chief editor of his class magazine. His work has been featured in The Heron’s NestThe Mamba, and the Boston Haiku Society Newsletter. He won third prize in a poetry contest organized by the Poetry Foundation Ghana, a 2nd in the 2015 Mainichi Shinbun haiku contest in Japan, and 1st prize (the Akita University President’s Award) in the 5th Japan-Russia Haiku Contest in 2016. Darkwa lives in Accra, Ghana.
