Sofia Rusinova (София Русинова)
Sofia Rusinova (full Russian Cyrillic name София Владимировна Русинова; haigō Ореховая Соня (Orekhovaya Sonya, “Dormouse”), born July 14, 1965, Moscow, U.S.S.R.; died January 15, 2005, Moscow, Russian Federation). She worked as a geochemist, administrator, and poet. Though she had been writing poetry since the 1980s, her haiku were virtually all unpublished until after her death. Then her work was selected by Mikhail Baru for inclusion in his Through the Silence: Anthology of Russian Haiku, Senryu and Three-liners (2006) and gathered into a monograph collection, Poems, Translations, Haiku in the same year. Rusinova last lived in Moscow.
