John Zheng
John Zheng (born Zheng Jianqing, June 23, 1958, Qingshan, Hubei, China), chair of the Department of English and Foreign Languages at Mississippi Valley State University; researcher, translator, writer, and editor on African American haiku; and haiku poet. Has published four chapbooks of original and found haiku and a collection of haibun and tanka prose as well as more than 40 articles, reviews, and interviews. Edited books on Richard Wright, Sonia Sanchez, and African American haiku generally. Founding editor of Haiku Page and three other literary magazines. Lives in Itta Bena, Miss.
