Agnieszka Żuławska-Umeda (born Agnieszka Żuławska, December 10, 1950, Warsaw, Poland; married name Umeda, Polish Japanologist, translator, linguist, and retired assistant professor at Warsaw University. Produced several books of translations and studies of classical Japanese haiku, notably of Matsuo Bashō and his school, as well as a trilingual (Polish, English, Japanese) anthology of classical Polish haiku. Served as a member of the founding committee of the Polish Haiku Association and currently chairs its Ewa Tomaszewska Poetry Award Committee. Resides in Warsaw.

Andrzej Dembończyk (born May 6, 1975, Zbrosławice, Poland), Polish economist, writer, and haiku poet. Cofounder of the Polish Haiku Association; won First Place in its Founding Meeting Haiku Contest and Third Prize in the Wild Plum Haiku Contest, 2020. Also won the 2020 Ewa Tomaszewska Poetry Award for the best Polish-language haiku. Regularly particiaptes in online kukai as well as the Asahi and Mainichi newspaper columns. Published two volumes of haiku, tanka, and haibun. Coeditor and co-selector for several anthologies. Resides in Zbrosławice, Poland.

Anna Mazurkiewicz (born Anna Barbara Mazurkiewicz, January 5, 1978, Chełm, Lubelskie, Poland), holds a master’s degree in economics and works as an accountant. Writer of poetry, haikai and photo haiga, prose, feuilletons, and editorials; occasional blogger. Her haikai featured in international English-language publications, principally online, recognized in global competitions, and chosen for major anthologies. Resides in Chełm, Poland.

Azi Kuder (born Izabela Renczyńska-Kuder; August 11, 1960, Sopot, Poland) writer, haiku and haiga poet, and painter. Her haiku and haiga are published widely and honored in domestic and international haiku contests. Published a chapbook of haiku and haiga, Zapach haiku (The Scent of Haiku), in 2018. Active promoter of haiku in Poland: as cofounder of Haiku Port journal and the Sopot Haiku Workshop and as lead instructor for the Warsztaty Haiku abc (ABC Haiku Workshop) on Facebook. Member of the Polish Haiku Association and the World Haiku Association. Resides in Gdynia, Poland.

Dorota Pyra (born October 1962, Wałbrzych, Poland), retired preschool teacher and active writer of stories and songs for young people and teacher of haiku and Japanese culture. Participant in the Shiki Internet Kukai and the Mainichi Haiku in English. Has won awards in Japanese, Polish, Canadian, and Romanian contests. Attended the International Haiku Festival, Ghent, Belgium, 2010. Author of a book, Lodowy księżyc / Ice Moon (2009). Lives in Gdańsk, Poland.
