Marta Chocilowska
Marta Chocilowska (Polish spelling: Chociłowska; born January 3, 1950, Warsaw, Poland), retired economist, writer, and haiku poet. Her poems have been published in haiga and haiku journals worldwide, including Cattails, Frogpond, tinywords, and Contemporary Haibun Online. She has coauthored several haiku and senryu anthologies, and her book Pory roku w polskim haiku (The Seasons in Polish Haiku) came out in 2015. She has been a prizewinner or judge in Polish, Romanian, English, and Japanese haiku contests and won the Sponsor’s Award in the Ito en Oi Ocha New Haiku Contest 2016. Chocilowska has been president of the Polish Haiku Association since 2018 and managing editor of the PHA’s annual almanac Migratory Birds. She also serves as manager of The Haiku Foundation’s Haiku Registry. She resides in Warsaw, Poland.
