RAPHAEL D’ABDON
Raphael d’Abdon was born January 12, 1974, Udine, Friuli, Italy). He is a writer, scholar, editor and translator, and the author of three poetry collections: Sunnyside Nightwalk (2014), Salt Water (2016), and The Bitter Herb (2018). He edited I nostri semi–Peo tsa rona. Poeti sudafricani del post apartheid (2007; Our Seeds—Peo tsa rona: South African Post-Apartheid Poets)and Marikana: A Moment in Time (2014), and his poems have been published in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Singapore, Palestine, India, the U.K., Italy, Canada, and the U.S.A. His haiku have been published in The Mamba. D'Abdon is an honorary research fellow at the Human Sciences Research Council in Pretoria, South Africa, and the South African representative of the Africa Haiku Network. He teaches haiku writing at the Mzansi Poetry Academy, and has facilitated African haiku workshops in South African universities and schools. D’Abdon lives in Pretoria, South Africa.
