Philip Gross
Philip Gross (born February 27, 1952, Delabole, Cornwall, U.K.), poet, writer for young people, and writing educator. Until 2017 he was Professor of Creative Writing at the University of South Wales. Since 1983 he has published more than 20 collections of poetry, winning the T. S. Eliot Prize for Poetry, the Wales Book of the Year, and other major awards. The spirit of haiku informs his use of imagery; the promotion of it is central to his creative writing pedagogy for all ages, as renga is to his numerous collaborations with artists, musicians, and writers. He lives in Penarth, Wales.
