Jeanne Painchaud
Jeanne Painchaud (born July 12, 1962, Montréal, Québec, Canada), Canadian writer of works for young people, screenwriter, artist, and poet. Since 1997 she has published five volumes of haiku, the most recent also serving as an introduction to the art of writing haiku. She has contributed to more than 30 anthologies, and in 2013 she won the International Grand Prize in the Mainichi Haiku Contest. Painchaud also gives haiku workshops in libraries and schools, and has produced multidisciplinary projects to showcase haiku, such as exhibits, urban haiku walks, and haiku hopscotch grids. With her haiku presentations, she has traveled widely, including trips to Japan, Belgium, and Senegal. She lives in Montréal.
