Jim Kacian (born July 26, 1953, Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A.). American poet and writer, published over twenty books, primarily haiku. Founder and director of The Haiku Foundation, he is the owner and publisher of Red Moon Press. He has been instrumental in the establishment of haibun as an important element of the haikai tradition outside Japan as well as in the development of haiku film through the HaikuLife film festival on International Haiku Poetry Day. Kacian is perhaps the most important anthologist of English-language haiku, having founded the Red Moon Anthologies, the New Resonance series, and served as editor-in-chief of Haiku in English: The First Hundred Years, among others.
