Matthew M. Cariello (born December 9, 1958, Jersey City, New Jersey, U.S.A), senior lecturer in the English Department at the Ohio State University, author, poet, and haikai poet. Books of longer poems were published in 2011 and 2019 and a haiku collection, The Empty Field: Haiku 1982–2022, appeared in 2022. Lives in Bexley, Ohio.
