Roland Packer (born Roland Albert Henry Packer, September 15, 1955, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada), professional musician for more than 40 years. Has written haikai since the early 1980s. Featured poet in A New Resonance 6 (2009) and laureate of the Museum of Haiku Literature Award (Frogpond, 2010). Packer’s work has won dozens of honors, including first place in the Haiku Presence Awards, the British Haiku Society Awards, and the San Francisco International Competition. A mini-chapbook, Wayfarers appeared in 2017, and a full-length collection is planned for 2024. Resides in Hamilton, Ontario.
