Duško Matas (born March 8, 1933, Kaštel Stari, near Split, Croatia [Yugoslavia]), Croatian haiku poet. Now retired as a psychiatrist and court expert, he worked at the Policlinic for Traffic Medicine in Zagreb. An award-winning and anthologized author, he has published three collections of his own haiku and coauthored several others. Matas served on the editorial staff of the Association of Croatian Haiku Poets, of Haiku Magazine in 2003–2004, and of the anthology Nepokošeno nebo / An Unmown Sky in 2011. He has judged competitions for haiku in standard Croatian and the Chakavian dialect. In 2009, he was honored by election to the Ludbreg Column of Haiku Poets. He lives in Zagreb.

Ðurđa Vukelić Rožić (born Ðurđa Vukelić, April 6, 1956, Vidrenjak, Croatia [Yugoslavia]), Croatian haiku poet. With a degree in economics from the University of Zagreb, she is now retired from a position at Zagrebačka banka, Zagreb. She was founder of the Klostar Ivanić International Haiku Meeting and the Three Rivers Haiku Association in Ivanić-Grad, Croatia, and serves as editor-in-chief of the haiku magazine Iris and the online version, Iris International. Rožić publishes poetry, humorous sketches, short stories, and haiku and has compiled two comprehensive anthologies of Croatian haiku, Nepokošeno nebo / An Unmown Sky (2011) and Nepokošeno nebo / An Unmown Sky 2 (2018). She is the author of the Haikupedia article “Haiku in Croatia” and resides in Ivanić-Grad, Croatia.

Franjo Ordanić (born on February 11, 1973, Laupheim, West Germany), Croatian haiku poet. Holds a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Traffic Engineering in Zagreb and is a successful businessman. Ordanić was one of the founders of the annual Haiku kraj Mogile (Haiku at Mogila) gatherings and has coordinated their haiku and haiga competitions. In 2016, jointly with Vladimir Šuk, he published a haiku collection, Kliktaj bradatih orlova / The Scream of the Bearded Eagles. He won the Ivanić-Grad haiku contest in 2018. Together with photographer Sandra Šamec, he also publishes photo haiga in Daily Haiga, Black and White Haiga, Iris, Under the Bashō, Cattails, Failed Haiku, Chrysanthemum, and The Haiku Foundation Haiga Gallery and has participated in four exhibitions. Active in sports and cultural affairs, Ordanić lives in Oroslavje, Croatia.

Jasminka Predojević (born Jasminka Đerek, June 4, 1959, Imotski, Croatia, [Yugoslavia]), retired bank employee and haiku poet. Graduated from gymnasium in Imotski, worked at Zagrebačka banka, Zagreb. She has received awards in Japanese haiku contests, including the Japanese A-Bomb Memorial Day 1999, the International Kusamakura Haiku Contest 2000, and the Ashiya International Haiku Festa 2000, as well as Honorable Mentions in the Mainichi Haiku Contest in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2016, and IAFOR Vladimir Devidé 2016. Her work also appears in domestic Croatian publications and contests. She is an editorial advisor to the Iris journal and judged the Ivanić-Grad contest for haiku and senryu in 2020. She lives in Zagreb.

Marijan Čekolj (born February 21, 1955, Samobor, Croatia [Yugoslavia]; died June 4, 2018, Samobor), haiku poet, editor, and publisher. He was a cofounder and president of the Croatian Haiku Association, editor-in-chief of the bilingual haiku magazine Vrabac/Sparrow, and publisher of the bilingual series Croatian Haiku Poets, with more that 30 books. Čekolj published eight books of haiku and five of longer poetry. In addition, he edited the first Croatian haiku anthology Haiku iz rata / War Haiku, a second enlarged edition, and a second anthology, Otvoren put /Open Road. He last resided in Samobor, Croatia.
