Clelia Ifrim
Clelia Ifrim (born Cecilia Bucur, January 22, 1950, Bucharest, Romania), poet and writer. She published 25 books of poetry, drama, short prose, novels, essays about haiku and tanka, and translations. Recipient of many awards including Grand Prix, Matsuo Bashō Festival, Japan, 2011. Her book Japonia mea iubită / My loved Japan / Mein geliebtes Japan / Mon Japon bien-aime was voted one of the best books of 2011 by The Japan Times. Two of her poems were selected by JAXA—the Japan Space Agency—and stored aboard the space module Kibo of the International Space Station. Resides in Bucharest.
