Mike Spikes
Mike Spikes (born Michael Paul Spikes, December 24, 1954, Indianola, Mississippi, U.S.A.), American academic, professor of English at Arkansas State University, literary critic and theorist, and poet. Has been publishing haiku since 1999 in major American journals. Won the Museum of Haiku Literature Award in Frogpond; has been included in two editions of the Red Moon Anthology, Marlène Buitelaar’s The Scent of Music (2013), and Lee Gurga and Scott Metz’s Haiku 2016. Modern Haiku has published three of Spikes’s theoretical articles. Resides in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
