Agnieszka Żuławska-Umeda
Agnieszka Żuławska-Umeda (born Agnieszka Żuławska, December 10, 1950, Warsaw, Poland; married name Umeda, Polish Japanologist, translator, linguist, and retired assistant professor at Warsaw University. Produced several books of translations and studies of classical Japanese haiku, notably of Matsuo Bashō and his school, as well as a trilingual (Polish, English, Japanese) anthology of classical Polish haiku. Served as a member of the founding committee of the Polish Haiku Association and currently chairs its Ewa Tomaszewska Poetry Award Committee. Resides in Warsaw.
