Julie Mellor, 2023

Julie Mellor (born Penistone, South Yorkshire, U.K.), British poet and editor, working as a teaching assistant. She earned a degree in English at the University of Huddersfield, then a Master of Arts in writing at Sheffield Hallam, followed by a PhD, which she completed in 2003. She has been publishing her poetry and prose in magazines and journals since 1998, and her pamphlet, Breathing Through Our Bones, published in 2012, was a winner in The Poetry Business 2011 Book & Pamphlet Competition. Her haikai have appeared in journals including Blithe Spirit, Presence, The Heron’s Nest, Modern Haiku, Frogpond, Tinywords, and Hummingbird and have been selected for the annual Contemporary Haibun 18 and Giorgia Di Pancrazio and Katherine E Winnick’s To Live Here: A Haiku Anthology (both 2023). Mellor is currently the reviews editor for Presence. She resides in Sheffield, England.
